Description: This was another floor in generally good condition the decision was made to leave the original vinyl tiles in place these were fairly new and well adhered to the subfloor:

Process:
We lightly abraded the surface to provide a superior ‘key’.

  • 2 coats of white medium MicroCement were applied using the wet on wet system, this was allowed to dry then abraded to provide a smooth surface.
  • The floor area was then measured and the centre found to assess the positioning of saw cuts to cut the tile design to give the impression of a tiled floor.
  • When the design was finished the area was vacuumed to remove any fine dust and a black pigment was applied using a ‘ragging’ technique, this allows some of the white base to mirror through and gives a unique marbling effect.
  • 3 coats of gloss seal were then applied.
